UER welcomes Catherine

UER is pleased to announce that Catherine Potter, Director of Global Environmental Affairs at Johnson Controls, has joined its Board of Directors. A resident of Washington, DC for more than 10 years, Catherine brings a wealth of professional experience at the intersection of environmental sustainability and business, which will foster UER’s strategic growth as it pursues its environmental mission.

Prior to her current role, Catherine worked as a Director at PwC, where she led business development and consulted to a wide range of global corporate clients on sustainability, including helping companies identify product and service innovations that would help protect the environment and grow revenue.  As an early employee of Opower, a leader in energy efficiency software as a service, Catherine worked with electric and gas utilities across the U.S. to drive energy efficiency through a platform of innovative tools designed to engage customers on saving energy using behavioral science and marketing tools.

Catherine also previously worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, leading quantitative and qualitative analysis for corporate strategy projects. She started her career in the public sector, first working for the U.S. Department of Transportation and then for U.S. Senator Durbin as his energy and environment adviser, where she worked on a range of policy issues, including nuclear waste, fuel efficiency for cars and trucks, and clean water.

Catherine joins UER’s existing Board of Directors, which includes: Joseph Berg (Biohabitats), Barbara Deutsch (The Landscape Architecture Foundation), Frederick Klein (DLA Piper), Ryan Moody (Moody Graham), Adrian Washington (Neighborhood Development Company), Joseph Wiedorfer (The NHP Foundation), Mary Wiedorfer (KCI Technologies), and Rachel Toker (Urban Ecosystem Restorations).

UER is proud to add Catherine to its leadership team.  We look forward to adding her strategic insights and talents to the existing array of strengths and expertise already in its ranks.
